My Love for my skin
I’m the kind of woman who can’t resist the skincare section at the mall. There’s something about browsing through creams, serums, and face masks that brings me genuine joy. For me, buying skincare isn’t just a habit, it’s a small ritual that makes me feel good. I just love taking care of my skin.
How the Started
Back in high school and college, as a youngster, I didn’t really have any skin problems; I used body soap and nothing more. Occasionally, when I had extra money, I would treat myself to affordable sachet products from iWhite Korea or HBC (I don’t know if it still exists; it is mostly called “hortaleza”). Those small purchases felt like little luxuries at the time.
Discovering Affordable Skincare Online
When platforms like Shopee and Lazada became popular, I suddenly had access to a wide range of affordable serums, facial washes, creams, oils, and more! My favorite is using face masks before bed, or just overnight. It felt like a dream for me.
However, I’ve always been careful. With so many counterfeit products online, I make it a habit to check reviews, seller ratings, and product authenticity before buying.
Using different products and applying it directly on my skin is something I take seriously, and with so many counterfeit items flooding the market, especially online, it can be tricky. I make it a point to double-check reviews, seller ratings, and product details before hitting “add to cart” to avoid any potential harm to my skin.

Trying Korean Skincare Products
For a long time, I used Nacific, a Korean beauty product line that’s very gentle and has a good consistency, and it worked really well for my skin. Though there are times when it is not suitable in the Philippines’ weather. The good thing is my complexion improved, and I felt more confident without makeup.
But over time, I noticed the results started to plateau. Whether it was me not noticing or getting used to it, there is something else. My curiosity growing, I knew it was time to explore new options.
Switching to Premium
There’s a famous brand that always caught my attention at the mall was Kiehl’s. It had a strong reputation, great reviews, and was often recommended by bloggers I follow. I also like that they offer a patch test or can check your skin type and recommend the best for you. Eventually, I decided to invest in their products, and it was worth it.
After just one month, I noticed visible improvements. My blemishes started to fade, my dark circles became less noticeable, and I looked glowing, brighter, and clearer overall. Even my friends pointed out the difference.
What I Learned About Skincare
This journey taught me that taking care of your skin is not about buying the most expensive beauty products; it’s about finding what works for you and being consistent with it.
Using beauty products is more than just a routine; it’s a form of self-love. Whether you’re just starting or exploring out, the key is patience, consistency, and choosing what truly works for your skin.
I’m excited to continue this journey and discover even more ways to take care of my skin.
